Oh so blessed

I am an incredibly blessed woman. God has given me more than I could ask or imagine. Right now a goal that I have is to be more aware of God's presence and work in my life. This will just be a list of blessings in bullet form in no particular order.

  • my beautiful daughter who makes me smile and moving all over the place, and loves to use mommy and daddy as obstacles
  • anticipating a beach trip this summer with friends from AR that we don't get to see enough
  • attending a marriage class this week, doing the homework will help strengthen my already good marriage
  • a birthday lunch from Moe's with friends at school
  • There are only 16 days left of this school year
  • I got to take a walk with my daughter
  • the weather is amazing and totally speaks to me of God's glory
  • I got to cook dinner and eat at the table with my husband and daughter

God is good to me!

First Time In Sunday School

This past Sunday we finally decided it was time to take Abigail to her own Bible class. Since I am away from Abigail so much during the week, it's been hard for me to let go and not hold on to her during that that hour on Sunday morning. I'm trying to squeeze as much mommy daughter time into every weekend that I can. For the sake of our entire Bible class, it was time. Abigail is no longer good at sitting still and snuggling. She wants to talk and move and be free. Her Nana also happens to be teaching her class right now, so that kept Abigail from being nervous about being left. She was the only baby in her class this week, but I am praying that as the years go by, we will grow as a church family, and by the time she needs a strong youth group, one will be there. In the background of some of the pictures is her Aunt Bethany and Cousin Camille who will join Abigail in class in a few months.

I think they were talking about how God make our eyes. It was too cute not to share.
Looking at the Bible, I hope that as she grows she will continue to be interested in studying and exploring this book.

Chewing on the Bible.
Giving Mommy and Daddy a smile to say Bye before we left her.

Spring Break!!

While Charlie was hard at work in Haiti, Abigail and I were playing hard with my family in Tennessee. We drove Charlie, his dad, and another friend from church to Atlanta to meet up with their ride to the aiport. We dropped Daddy off at 5:30 am and headed north to Franklin. Needless to say, I was beat by the time we arrived. It was good to have grandparents ready to play with a baby who was wide awake since she had slept through the drive. We had a nice lazy day at my parents house just hanging out.

Sunday was of course Easter. Getting my little bunny all dressed up was fun. She looked beautiful if I do say so myself. She wore a dress that was her Christmas present from my aunt and my grandfather who recently passed away. It was special to have her wear something with a story for her first EAster. The day was wonderful filled with family, food, and fun. My neice hunted eggs and brought them to Abigail who was obviously too small to find them herself. Although she was great at chewing on them. It was a wonderful day to be with family.

The rest of the week was filled with time with my sister, neice, mom, dad and daughter. We got to play at the park, have a picnic, let the girls "swim" in a kiddie pool and just hang out. The extended time with my family was wonderful. I miss them since I live in a different place. It also helped distract me some from the fact that my husband was far away.

One of the best parts of the week for me was just getting time to play with Abigail. I was with her all day for a week. I did take a few minutes for myself and had some me time. I miss my daughter so much while I'm at work, but this week I felt so good getting to get her dressed, feed her all her meals, love on her all the time. Another great part of the week was not being in a hurry all the time. I had the chance for long showers, sitting around, finishing a book, sitting in the sun, taking longs walks, etc. All these are things that are hard to find time for these days. Working full time and being a full time wife and mother doesn't leave much time for doing nothing. Now with the spring break teaser over, I'm longing for summer and the fun it will bring.

We had a fabulous week ending with picking up Charlie at the airport. That may have been the highlight. It was good to have my man home with me again. The pictures are out of order, but still fun.

My neice LOVES stickers and used Abigail for her art project. One of these stickers was eaten somehow, and yes it came through whole.

My mom giving Abigail a bath in the kitchen.

Cousins hanging out in the kitchen. Abigail actaully looks like she's trying to make a funny face.

Mommy and Baby on Easter

Playing in the kiddie pool. We boiled water to add the water from the hose, so they didn't freeze.

Swinging at hte park near our house before spring break.

Opening her Easter basket from her grandparents.

Chewing on the toy is a good sign that she likes it.

Posing with Granddaddy

All dressed up

Napping after a long and fun week.

Family Excitement!!

I am proud to announce that I have new nephew. Right now he is living in an orphanage in Ethiopia, but as of today he is officially my sister and brother in law's son. Our family is so excited and anxious to welcome this new little on into our family. He will probably get more snuggles than he ever thought possible with in a couple days of being here. It will still be several weeks before they are able to travel to pick him up, but now he's officially one of our family. I am thankful to God for my sister and brother in laws hearts to save this little one from a life of tragedy. He will be loved, taught about God, and given a chance to grow up in a safe and happy home. Welcome to the family Benjamin!!

Husband to Haiti

Tomorrow is the big day when Charlie as well as several other members of our church are headed to Haiti for mission work. I am so proud of my husband and these others for wanting to serve God in this way. They will be dirty, tired, uncomfortable, but I know they will be blessed. Their lives will bless others.
I stared this post a couple days ago, but am just now getting aorund to finishing it. They have arrived in Haiti safe and sound. I'm not sure all the plans or when the work begins. I'm happy to know they made it there.
I know that the rewards from this trip will not al be known for a long time to come. People in Haiti will be blessed because of this trip. I know also that our own church will be blessed. Those on the trip will grow stronger which will strengthen indiviual families which leads to a stronger church family. The blessings that God can create are boundless. Won't it be wonderful to continue to see the great things God will do through this mission effort. Pray for those on the trip. My heart is learning this week what it means to pray continually. My heart is constantly bring my husband and the whole group before the Lord. Over and over I'm reminding myself that My God is bigger. Bigger than Haiti, missing my husband, anxiety of the unknown, My God is bigger.
